EMERGENCY ADVICE 

GAS
If you smell gas :- Call the National Grid on 0800 111 999!

A call handling agent will log all the appropriate details onto a computer. The kind of information you'll be asked for will include:

        • The address/location of the suspected gas escape or gas emergency
        • How many people are at the property where the smell is most noticeable?
        • How long the smell has been noticeable?
        • Are any neighbours affected?
        • Your name and phone number
        • Any special circumstances or access information

Getting accurate address details is very important as we want to make sure we send engineers to exactly the right place. You will be asked to verify these details for this very reason. Your address and postcode are particularly important.

You'll be asked a series of questions designed to help us build a picture of the reported gas escape or gas emergency. From these details, we can identify the right gas safety advice for you - such as:

        • Opening doors and windows
        • Turning the gas off at the meter
        • Avoiding the use of any naked flames or electrical switches

PLUMBING
In the event of a plumbing emergency within your property - Call 0800 037 6525.

If water is leaking from the pipework or central heating system:-
Immediately turn OFF the water supply to the property at the stop cock by turning the handle CLOCKWISE. This will stop any further damage to your property.

NOTE: It is good idea to familiarise yourself with the location and operation of the stop-cock in the event of an emergency


DRAINAGE

In the event of a drainage emergency at your property - Call 0800 037 6525.

Drainage problems can be hazardous, unhygenic and downright smelly! If there is a blocked drain then the water willfind a way out or up! Triple Point can clear most drains within the hour.*

NOTE: To minimise the possibility of a blockage do not put items down drains/toilets that cannot easily breakup in water (eg food and disposable nappies).

Remember that you are responsible for the drains outside your home that are within your property boundaries.

ELECTRICITY
In the event of an electrical emergency within your property, switch off the electricity at the fuse box.

NOTE: DO NOT USE ANY ELECTRICAL SWITCHES IF THERE IS ALSO A GAS
           EMERGENCY.
